Special Opportunity for Teachers
Check out our new professional development workshop for teachers (grades 2-4)! Spend the night at Conner Prairie and immerse yourself in 19th-century work and play. Register by October 7 for the fall workshop and by June 1 for spring!
A trip to Conner Prairie covers K-12 standards in social studies, science, language arts and math.
Planning Information

Location
Conner Prairie is conveniently located six miles northeast of Indianapolis on Allisonville Road or off exit 5 from Interstate 69, six miles north of I-465.

Reservations
Reservations are required for all programs and can be made by calling 317.776.6006 or 800.966.1836. For the Self-guided Tour only, reservations can be made online. Please have the following information ready:

  • Your name
  • School name
  • School address
  • School phone number
  • School fax number
  • Alternate phone number
  • Program of interest
  • First choice of dates
  • Second choice of dates
  • Time requested
  • Grade level
  • Anticipated number of students
  • Anticipated number of adults
  • Anticipated number of teaching and school staff
  • Any special needs or requests

Payment and Cancellations
Pre-payment is required for some programs. To receive a full refund for pre-paid programs, cancellations must be made three weeks prior to the program date. Conner Prairie’s programs operate rain or shine. Conner Prairie reserves the right to cancel to any program. All prices and times are effective September 1, 2006-August 31, 2007.

Group Leaders
One adult leader must accompany each group of 10 students, grades 2-12. Pre-K-grade 1 should have one adult for every five students. Group leaders are responsible for their students’ behavior and must remain with their students at all times.

Food
Try our haversack kids' meal this year! Lunchmeat sandwiches, sides and a drink are served in a souvenir bag. Advance reservations required. Call 317.776.6006 or 800.966.1836 at least two weeks before your visit.

Limited lunch space is available in outdoor shelters on a first-come, first served basis. Food and drinks are not permitted in the outdoor historic areas or exhibit galleries in the Museum Center.

Museum Shop
Don’t forget to stop in the Museum Shop! Discover pioneer and history books, educational items and games perfect for classroom use. Students enjoy the wooden toys, musical instruments, historic clothing, games and old-fashioned candy. Shop before your tour and leave your bags with us!

First Aid Location
The First Aid room is located in the hallway near the orientation theater. If you need first aid, notify a staff member to assist you.

Special Needs
Conner Prairie strives to provide educational and fun experiences for everyone. Please notify Guest Services if your group has anyone with special needs so that we may assist in making your visit enjoyable for everyone. Tram service is available for those needing special assistance to our outlying historic areas.

Photograph Policy
When making a group reservation, you are giving permission for your group to be photographed, allowing Conner Prairie to use the group’s or individual’s likeness for publication and marketing purposes.

Farm Animals
For the safety of students and the museum’s livestock, farm animals should not be fed or petted unless supervised by museum staff.
