History Online

Conner Prairie's History Online has always brought you excellent articles, exhibits, etc about the history of the Midwest before the Civil War. Now as Conner Prairie expands History Online to include later periods in American History as a result of the Spring 2001 opening of the first of our 1886 historic sites. Look at the "Life in the 1880s" section to access articles used as a basis for the interpretation at the 1886 sites, which includes a district school, Quaker meeting house and covered bridge.

New! In collaboration with IUPUI University Library you can now view the Conner Prairie textile database online. It highlights some of the most historically valuable quilts, coverlets, and samplers from our collection.

Also, Check out our project for Save Our History and the History Channel® regarding Christopher Trowbridge. Learn how to speak some Lenape, the language of the Lenape, or Delaware, Indians.
